By Madu Onuorah, Abuja
Two Ministers, Chief Ojo Maduekwe (Foreign Affairs) and Mr Lanre Babalola (Power), were yesterday locked out for coming late for a scheduled meeting with Vice President Goodluck Jonathan.

Maduekwe came in 15 minutes behind schedule while Babalola came in 20 minutes for a meeting slated for 1.00 p.m.

They were however allowed in after some explanations and confirmations that they were actually informed of the meeting at the last minute.

Jonathan had recently abandoned a scheduled meeting with a group of ministers because of lateness. The meeting had to be rescheduled as those expected at the meeting came some minutes after the meeting was supposed to have commenced.

Maduekwe had on getting to the door to the Vice President's conference room hoped to enter unhindered, but was surprised to be told by the Vice President's security aides that he could not go inside.

Embarrassed by the situation, explained that he only got a call for the meeting five minutes to the scheduled time, soliciting the understanding of the Chief Security Officer to the Vice President to be able to enter.

Babalola, who got to the meeting venue five minutes after Maduekwe was let in, said he was not aware of the meeting before the call came, just 10 minutes before the commencement of the meeting.
